As a Category Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for developing a category strategy for managed categories, validating strategies with Global and Regional Category Managers/s and the respective internal partners and stakeholders. You will be conducting strategic sourcing initiatives, plan and execute negotiations using supplier and industry analysis, benchmark and cost management. Through management of the category strategy, you will also be building trusted partnerships with internal stakeholders, driving best in class, cost, supply and resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Category Management & Strategic Sourcing
Recommend resource levels across procurement sourcing categories, projects and functions
Implement processes to monitor stakeholder satisfaction with key suppliers
Recommend targets to maximize value such as high revenue, spend reduction, purchasing efficiency, customer services and supplier management
Analyze sourcing trends and make recommendations for assigned categories
Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal setting
Cost Management & Analysis
Identify and evaluate category-specific savings/revenue levers
Drive category savings/revenue and scorecard metric targets
Provide market intelligence and category price trends to relevant internal stakeholders
Utilize should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace
Negotiation
Lead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, transfers, etc
Lead sourcing events/RFQ process into bundled negotiation
Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations
Develop a contract strategy for suppliers in assigned categories and create, negotiate, monitor and enforce contracted terms and conditions
Business Partnering
Collaborate with Stakeholders to Deliver Strategic Solutions
Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned spend categories through relationships with key stakeholders
Drive customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement
You are:
Well-versed in Semiconductor Sourcing
Experienced in a category management role, preferably in a semiconductor or tech industry
Demonstrate experience in strategic sourcing
Strong in negotiation and communication skills
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum 2 years of experience in Semiconductor Sourcing
MBA or Master's degree in Operation Management or related fields with 3 years of experience
Proficient in written and verbal communication and presentation skills
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$84,000.00 - $144,000.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
