We seek a highly motivated professional that will be a critical contributor to the overall sales, marketing, planning, and category management process. You will be responsible for the business planning analysis and category insights leading to the development of comprehensive category growth and promotional strategies that lead to profitable increased sales and market share gains.
In this role, you will act as a strategic thought leader and Channel expert, imparting knowledge of category and shopper insights, to develop comprehensive go-to-market strategies focused on shopper centricity that enable greater sell-thru and market share gains.
Finally, you will collaborate with Customer Development Managers, Customer Planners, Marketing Brand Managers, and maintain clear and concise communications with other key departments. This position is located at our Secaucus, NJ office, and has the flexibility to work 3 days in office and 2 days remote.

Your Responsibilities ...
Analyze various data sources, identifying business insights, and recommending solutions that drive profitable category growthServe as the expert within customer planning on the use of syndicated data to assist sales and Customer Planners into making well informed decisions from actionable insightsGenerate weekly reporting and provide insights, identify opportunities and deliver solutions that drive profitable category growthInfluence the line review process with shopper insights and data to make recommendations on optimal assortment, plan-o-gram space allocation and flowUnderstand how online purchase behaviors differ from those in-store and how to capitalize on the differencesDevelop presentations and present to the buyer and key stakeholders (i.e., business reviews, line reviews, product/segment deep dives, shopper insights, etc.)Assist in developing the brand strategies by channel to maximize category sales and profits. Assist in Communicating category/brand strategies, plans, and objectives to Customer Development divisions for execution with key strategic customersEnsure the brand strategies are executed with key strategic retailers and distributors to meet and exceed expected results (distribution, placement, promotion, pricing) utilizing consumer dataSupport the forecasting process by understanding and tracking key customer activities and market trendsCommunication link to internal functions at Hartz and the Customer Development teamDevelop and maintain shelf standard programs developed by Brand and Customer planningWork with CDM's on shelf standards for reviews and product launchesUnderstand share of shelf and utilize POG software to help ensure core assortment is achievedRequirements
You Need to Have ...
Bachelor's Degree in a business-related discipline2-3 years' experience in category management with a CPG company, supporting sales teamsExperience developing and delivering sales presentation to key strategic retailersExperience or knowledge with syndicated data to support business development and sales efforts (IRI, Nielsen)Ability to focus on priorities in a dynamic environment and consistently deliver resultsAbility to use Space Management Software to support business development and sales efforts (Apollo, Spaceman)Strong communication and analytical skillsExperience working within TM1 software a plusProficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, Word
