　　The role:

　　As a Category Merchant you will lead strategic sourcing. This includes owning our assortment, vendor management, and partnering with marketing, ecommerce, and pricing teams to drive demand and sales for your categories. Successful candidates will be customer focused and have a strong bias for data led decision making. They will have a high level of business ownership and be expert communicators able to influence C-level external and internal decisions. Key elements of your strategy will include enhancing customer experience to drive sales and gross margin for Nuts.com. This position reports to the Vice President of Merchandising.

　　What you'll do:

　　Act as the business owner of your categories. This includes building a deep understanding of internal and external variables that impact our business

　　Own category assortment including an innovation roadmap to capitalize on industry trends and maintain relevance with the customer

　　Negotiate with suppliers and build strong vendor relationships and drive margins

　　Work cross functionally to ensure we remain in stock with healthy inventory levels in your categories

　　Plan seasonally appropriate promotions and features to drive customer demand for your categories

　　Always aim to exceed margin and sales targets with thoughtful pricing and promotional strategies

　　What you’ll bring:

　　Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Product Development, Merchandising highly preferred

　　At least 2-3 years of category merchandising experience preferable within food & beverage

　　The ideal candidate will have strong customer experience intuition, business and product sense combined with solid understanding of technical Merchandising concepts

　　You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities

　　Be analytically talented, an effective storyteller, and make data driven decisions

　　Have experience managing the performance of the product portfolio including developing and growing vendor relationships, expanding and culling product selection, negotiating contracts, setting a category strategy and building an annual plan to improve sales and margins

　　Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experience and qualifications for the role. Base pay is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include short & long term incentive compensation. In addition, employees are eligible for our standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and 401K match.
