Eaton’s IS VEH Functions division is currently seeking a Category Manager Ferrous Castings. This position can be based at our Southfield, MI facility or remotely from a home office.
The Regional Category Manager, Ferrous Castings, supports the development and deployment of the global category strategy of grey iron, ductile iron and steel castings in the North America region. In this role, you will drive towards optimal conditions (cost, commercial, quality, delivery, innovation, VAVE, proactive supplier risk management, supplier crisis management) for the Mobility Group's Global Ferrous Castings category by leveraging synergies across businesses and driving the “One Supply Chain” philosophy.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $105,000.00-$154,000.00 a year.

What you’ll do:
• You will support development of and deploy strategic initiatives to facilitate cross-business synergies across a rationalized set of global and regional preferred supplier partners.
• You will negotiate and manage key strategic supplier contracts and relationships.
• You will review, approve, monitor and report compliance to category agreements and strategies based upon Eaton SCM policies.
• You will develop innovative business solutions, forecast commodity projections and provide mitigation actions as applicable to ensure key metrics for the procurement function (Cost Out, DPO, Diversity Spend, etc.) are achieved.
• You will present new planning tools, methods, technical analysis, standards and procurement opportunities with senior management that are aligned with SCM/Eaton strategic plans and cost reduction initiatives.
• You will benchmark procurement processes to develop and implement best practices throughout Eaton and Supply Chain Management.
• You will ensure compliance of suppliers with Eaton SCM Sustainability Programs, Go GREEN initiatives and SCM policies.
• You will plan, prepare and execute annual profit planning for the owned spend, and support execution with the business cross functional teams.
• You will lead Supplier Business Reviews with strategic suppliers annually.
• You will identify potential financial / operational threats to the business and develop / deploy proactive supplier risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity.
Qualifications:
Required Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering and/or Business Administration from an accredited institution
• Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in Category Management or Procurement OR a minimum of seven (7) years’ professional experience in Supply Chain or Operations.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional Supply Chain related certification (ex: CPM, CPIM)
• MBA or Master’s degree in Supply Chain from an accredited institution
• 3-5 years’ professional negotiating experience in a global business environment
• 3-5 years’ professional experience with accountability across multiple manufacturing facilities
Skills:
• Knowledge of iron / steel castings industry and ability to identify technology and economical trends within the category
• Demonstrates knowledge and experience in successfully developing and deploying category strategies and driving cost-out.
• Creative thinking skills to produce new approaches in category management and implement emerging tools
• Communication, customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with senior management, suppliers, operations and SCM personnel
• Ability to manage cost-out projects against scope, schedule and budget"
