Overview
This position will own developing and executing Category Strategies for a defined areas of spend. Define and establish the Sourcing Strategy and lead the strategic sourcing process. This role requires subject matter expertise in the category and understand market trends including all phases of marketplace analysis, supplier selection, supplier relationship management, supply risk, negotiation and contracting.
Responsibilities
Create comprehensive Commodity strategy aligned to stakeholder's goals and Cook Medical goalsDevelop and or support a robust Commodity strategy for all assigned areas ensuring alignment to the business needs including consideration of market trends, application of technology, processes, and benchmarking,Effectively manage key stakeholders related to the assigned CommodityApply a robust RFx strategic sourcing methodology and negotiate supplier agreements/contracts for goods and servicesSolve complex problems important to the success of the organization and draw on experience to successfully negotiate lowest total cost of ownership/best price, OTD, Lead-Times, Customer Satisfaction, and Quality.Provide large data pulls from finance or BI (Business Insights) and market dataBuild strong relationship with our suppliers and partners
Lead the development of overall supply strategy for the for assigned Commodity and/or categories meeting stakeholder expectationsIdentify opportunities for the deployment of new technologies for enabling processes which support the Commodity.Analyze price and costs with the intention of benchmarking best practices and pricingOversee the supplier assessment and supplier qualification process.Provide category expertise to the global businessLead Market AnalysisMust work and interact effectively and professionally with others throughout various levels of the global organizationAbility to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervisionLead the Supplier Relationship Management for the top suppliers defined to be part of the program
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, and or Engineering(with a Masters Degree a Plus)A minimum of 5-10 years of experience working in a complex supply chain organizationA minimum of 10 years of Procurement and Supply Chain experience
CPSM or CPM preferredDemonstrate leadership, interpersonal skills and teamwork.Work effectively with internal and supplier personnel at all levels, including senior management
