　　Description

　　Title – Scaffold Carpenter

　　Location – 2385 Riverport Rd. Memphis, TN 38109

　　Hours – Monday-Friday, 6am to 5pm (OT or occasional weekends based on business needs)

　　Type – Full-time/ Permanent

　　We are looking for a Scaffold Carpenter who will construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantle scaffolding or other temporary structures. A minimum of 6m - 1 year of experience is preferred within the Scaffolding craft.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Helps determine type of scaffold needed.

　　Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.

　　Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.

　　Transports scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.

　　Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Brand Safway requirements.

　　Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.

　　Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.

　　Inspects and properly racks & stacks scaffolding material after demo.

　　Qualifications

　　Actively participate in Brand Safway's Employee Intervention System (EIS)

　　Determine the materials needed for basic scaffolds.

　　During scaffold dismantling, from the ground, receive materials and place into a rack for transport back to the scaffold yard.

　　During scaffold erection, unload and stage materials as directed and pass material to a scaffold crew from the ground.

　　Effectively communicate with crew members and supervision

　　Exercise Stop Work Authority when an unsafe condition are witnessed.

　　Inspect scaffold components for damage and/or defects.

　　Maintain a clean and organized jobsite free from any unnecessary hazards associated with the work being performed by a scaffold crew.

　　Organize and maintain a scaffold yard, including the unloading of racks after the dismantling of a scaffold, and prepare scaffold components for utilization as needed.

　　Participate in the Job Safety Planning (JSP) process.

　　Perform all assigned duties on a jobsite, as directed by supervision.

　　Physical Demands: The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Stand for long periods of time. Ability to feel and reach with hands and arms. Ability to stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear and taste and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds.
