　　CARPENTER

　　As a member of the construction projects team you will work with a group of elite engineers and project managers across multiple disciplines to build infrastructure for a variety of projects at Starbase as well as other SpaceX facilities. This role is responsible for building high quality carpentry, quickly across the Starbase site. You will have the opportunity to drive positive change and own projects from start to finish, with the goal of making the SpaceX campus a world-class facility. This position is based in South Texas (Brownsville/South Padre area). 

　　RESPONSIBILITIES:

　　Layout, installation, repair, finishing, maintaining various structures, fixtures and buildingsFrame floors, walls, roofs, sheds, decks, fences, and other structuresConstruct cabinets, hang doors and windows, installs siding, sheetrock, insulation, and trimKeep tools, materials and equipment in working conditionAdvise in the selection of building materials; requisitions building materials and suppliesTransport various heavy materials in vehiclesCoordinate with project managers and engineers in the planning of projectsMeet with contractors for informal bidsPerform administrative tasks including entering and retrieving data, making reportsDefine hazards, overall design and structure qualityInstruct apprentice carpenters and non-skilled helpers on trades-based projectsPerform related duties as assigned

　　BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

　　High school diploma or equivalency certificate5+ years of experience in commercial or residential carpentry

　　PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

　　Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials and complex wooden structures 

　　Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction

　　Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)

　　Ability to read, create and review technical documents, blueprints and drawings

　　Ability to offer feedback to the design team to improve cost, quality, and aestheticsWillingness to follow safety guidelines at all times

　　Good understanding of basic math

　　ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

　　Valid driver’s licenseAbility to lift, push/pull and carry up to 50 lbs. unassistedBasic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform regular manual laborAbility to climb ladders and work in confined spaces

　　COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

　　Pay range:              

　　Carpenter/Level 1: $18.00/hour          

　　Carpenter/Level 2: $20.50/hour          

　　Carpenter/Level 3: $23.00/hour

　　Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

　　Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
