This position is a part of Citi’s Resolution Capital Execution Need (RCEN) Forecasting team within the Capital Planning area of Citi Finance. The team supports a range of high-profile regulatory deliverables and initiatives central to the safety and soundness of the firm. Citi’s RCEN Forecasting team is responsible for the development and maintenance of resolution capital plans for submission to regulators, while at the same time, focusing on industry and Citi-wide strategic issues. Specifically, RCEN Forecasting team is responsible for BAU RCEN Forecasts, 165(d) Plan RCEN Forecasts, RCEN Simulations, and advising on the development of the RCEN Target State. Further, RCEN Forecasting team supports evaluation of and development of strategies to address impediments to an orderly resolution, enhance Citi’s resolution planning capabilities and maximize business opportunities while minimizing capital and structural inefficiencies.
This particular role will be responsible for BAU Daily RCEN Forecasts, RCEN Simulations, and supporting processes. The candidate will have a unique opportunity to gain a broad understanding of many key facets of Citi: its legal structure; product offerings; business franchises; functional teams; balance sheet and liquidity management protocols; countries of operations; and the interaction of these various facets. While this is a Finance position, the RCEN Forecasting team has significant engagement with operations and technology; financial and risk reporting, businesses, jurisdictional legal regimes and bankruptcy laws; financial market utilities; and the regulatory considerations of local jurisdictions in which Citi operates. The candidate will support these efforts by leveraging their technical skills (MS Excel), analytical skills to better articulate and present the various financial assumptions and outputs supporting Citi's regulatory strategies and capabilities. Strong technical skills (MS Excel), communication and writing skills, such as distilling complex ideas into simple presentations are critical.
Key Responsibilities include:
Processing Daily RCEN Forecasts and reporting to senior management
Supporting quarterly RCEN Simulations and annual 165 (d) resolution planning process, and, presenting to senior management
Executing controls to provide assurance over reliability of the forecasts
Supporting ongoing maintenance of each MLE's Minimum Capital Sufficiency Target ratios, which are required to be updated quarterly per the standards established
Supporting remediation of any capital deficits by working with MLE Treasurers and senior management
Manage technology and / or process enhancement projects involving a wide range of functional partners, against tight project timelines and deliverable schedules
Partner with global RRP teams to understand regulatory requirements, develop strategies and assist in executing processes to respond to and meet regulatory expectations
Lead strategic projects and support a wide range of analytical presentations that help decide and support Citi's global regulatory strategies
Align RRP goals with other key regulatory deliverables
Ensure Citi’s RRP activities are conducted through existing governance structures
Draft regulatory and executive communications and messaging.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
5+ years’ relevant work experience
Prior experience in capital planning, liquidity management, or resolution planning preferred
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Experience of analyzing and handling large datasets preferred
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Significant intellectual curiosity and desire to learn how Citi conducts its activities, often at the most granular level
Knowledge of Citi data architecture / systems a plus
Proven problem solving and analytical skills, with diligence and superior attention to detail sufficient to withstand scrutiny from senior executives as well as Risk and Internal Audit functions
Ability to influence and build strong relationships with people at varying levels across the organization
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while multitasking and meeting strict deadlines.
