Lowe’s Summer Internship Program Overview
Lowe's 2024 Summer Internship Program offers a challenging, project-based opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to enhance their understanding of the retail business world through valuable, hands-on experience with a FORTUNE® 50 company. The summer internship program begins with orientation on May 20th and concludes on August 2nd . All internships are paid opportunities. Qualified interns will be eligible for Lowe's housing benefit.
Retail Facilities Field Support and Execution Team
The Facilities Execution team is responsible for execution of reactive and planned maintenance, vendor management, planning and execution of projects along with asset replacement for retail stores and supply chain locations across the US. They partner with the facilities strategy team on RFPs, vendor selection, asset replacement planning.
The Facilities Execution internship will consist of a project-based assignment to review current asset replacement and tracking process to develop a streamlined standard approach used across the 3 divisional teams. This process will need to adhere to capital purchase guidelines, include budget and asset information tracking within a centralized maintenance management system.
Areas of learning
Develop an understanding of Retail Facilities equipment and assets required to run the business.
Understand capital vs expense replacement guidelines and thresholds to assist in streamlining efficient decision making.
Plan and lead meetings with internal and external departmental associates to determine what information needs to be tracked and managed.
Develop processes to present to departmental Sr Leadership for review and adoption on Retail Facilities equipment and asset prepurchase levels.
Work with cross functional divisional teams to roll out and execute new processes.
Education and/or Experience:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Facility Management, Finance, or related fields from an accredited university with expected graduation dates of December 2024 or May 2025
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required
Proficient in MS Office Programs (specifically Word, Excel, and Power Point)
Strong collaborative, innovative, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills are required
Relevant internship and experience is a plus, as is experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization
