Overnight Camp Health Officer Opportunity at YMCA Camp MacLean!YMCA Camp MacLean, like many Y programs, is about learning skills,developing character and making friends. But few environments are asspecial as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how tobe more independent and how to contribute to a group. At camp, we teachself-reliance, a love for nature, and the development of attitudes andpractices that build character-all amidst the fun of campfires,canoeing, archery, swimming, and meaningful relationships. The OvernightCamp Health Officer is a seasonal position. Under the direct supervisionof the Camp Director, the Health Officer is responsible for properhealth care and first aid for campers and staff. Pay range starts at\$1,176 bi-weekly, housing & meals provided Scope and Responsibilities:Collect all campers and staff medication keep them locked up anddispense as directed. Perform a wellness check all campers & staff forcommunicable diseases, health problems, illnesses as directed in thewritten health procedures. Collect and file all camper and staff healthforms. Maintain all first aid kits. Maintain standing order medicationand report medication or supply needs to the camp director. Maintaindaily treatment log. Be readily available for first aid emergencies andother contingencies. Secure proper treatment for campers and staffrequiring a doctor\'s or hospital attention. Give a brief health checkto campers leaving the camp property for overnight trips. Make sureaccompanying staff members have necessary first aid information, dailyand pm medication, first aid orientation and health forms. Contactparents of camper requiring physician\'s attention, overnight stay inhealth center or whenever is deemed necessary. Issue written healthinformation to all staff of campers requiring medication and specialallergies so that staff are aware. Report any incident to the campdirector. All incident reports are filled out by camp director. Observeand advise camp director and staff on health, disease, sanitation andcleanliness issues. Requirements: Must have a Bachelor\'s degree inNursing or equivalent education experience Must be licensed by the stateas a RN, EMT, or LP Must have current CPR and First Aid CertificationMust have 1-3 years of nursing and/or related experience Prior campexperience is preferred Child Abuse Prevention - Supports the YMCA\'scommitment to child abuse prevention by: Reporting any items that mayprovide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to yoursupervisor Following all policies and procedures related to keepingchildren safe in our facilities and programs, including those related tothe monitoring and supervision of children Reporting...
