Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, has been helping animals and people since 1873. Together with our community, we better the lives of animals through justice, prevention, and life-saving care. Our organization cares for thousands of animals each year—saving animals from abuse and suffering, sending homeless pets to new homes, connecting pet owners with resources to keep their pets, and sharing information on how to help animals daily.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience with children and animals. Humane Education Camp Counselors will supervise children and manage the daily activities within the camp.
Schedule:This position will run from June 24, 2024 - August 16, 2024. Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM each day.
Additional opportunities are available for April Break camp (April 1 -5).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively supervises campers and ensures each camper is accounted for
Collaborates with co-workers to plan activities and prep supplies each day
Implements humane education lessons, animal interactions, animal-related chores, crafts, educational games
Communicate with parents/guardians about each camper’s day
Ensures the health and safety of the youth in the program
Ensures the camper sign-in and out process is run smoothly and safely
Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable state and federal laws.
Observe all safety rules and regulations for self and others
Performs other duties as requested
