JOB REQUIREMENTS: The City of Onalaska is seeking to hire CampCounselors. Scheduled hours vary for each program, but may include:mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. An employee in thisposition is responsible for the supervision, instruction and safety ofall participants, program staff, and the equipment and amenitiesassociated with a specific program. Essential Job Functions: Assist inplanning and implementing the daily activities of the Summer ExplorersDay Camp program Act as a role model and leader for all day campparticipants. Prepare the facility for camp activities and clean up thearea when all activities are complete. Maintain an inventory ofsupplies, snacks, and equipment. Communicate any necessary purchases tothe Camp Director and/or Site Supervisor. Be familiar with the Staff andParent Manuals and follow the guidelines set forth by these manuals.Help compile and maintain a binder of campers\' emergency contactinformation. Make sure to bring the binders on walks, to the OnalaskaAquatic Center, all field trips, etc. Complete and turn inIncident/Accident Report Forms, Conduct Reports and all other requiredpaperwork in a professional manner. Dispense medication as needed andlog in the Medication Record. Work directly with the children by leadingand supervising them in planned activities. Administer First Aid and CPRas needed (training will be provided). Remain at the site until allchildren are picked up. Attend all required staff meetings, trainingsand workshops. Maintain a clean and organized environment for both staffand campers. Perform the job in compliance with City policies,procedures, rules and the employee handbook. Perform the job safely incompliance with City safety rules and procedures. Job Requirements: High School diploma or equivalentpreferred. Must be 18 years or older. CPR/First Aid Certificationrequired (class available upon hire). One (1) year of recreation and/orchild care experience preferred. Must possess supervision and leadershiptechniques/skills. Prior knowledge of school-aged activity programs.Compensation: Wage range for this seasonal, limited-term position is\$12.00 to \$15.00 per hour depending on qualifications.
