Newshub is the premiere news brand for Warner Bros. Discovery ANZ. It delivers world-class local and international news aimed primarily at a New Zealand audience across linear broadcast and digital platforms.
General Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for a camera operator to join our fun and talented team.
This role is responsible for providing professional news content creation through shooting, linking and field editing to all Newshub platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide professional camera work to meet the requirements of all Newshub platforms, delivering a high quality of shooting, lighting and sound on all shows.Provide high quality live linking and feeding in the field to all Newshub platforms to meet deadlines.Work alongside the Wellington Camera team Leader in workflow style and brand improvementsProvide editing services in the field as/when required.Keeping all allocated vehicles and shared equipment maintained safe, and secure at all times.To always conduct oneself in a professional manner when representing Newshub.Daily duties assigned by the National news desk.Uphold the company values and expected behaviours in all undertakings related to your employmentThe Employee shall ensure they are familiar with the Employer's policies and procedures, and any modifications to those policies and procedures that may be introduced from time to time.Carry out your work safely and without endangering or causing harm to yourself, fellow staff members, contractors, customers, visitors, or the general public.Other duties as required.The Company may, after fair and reasonable consultation, change your duties, from time to time, for commercial reasons but not so as to substantially change the nature of the position.
Qualities Required:
Professional, motivated and creative News Camera Operator.Good knowledge of digital broadcasting, editing and live production techniques such as bonded cellular systems (LiveU)/linking/SNG/feeding.A solid technical knowledge of camera operation, audio, lighting, editing and all linking techniques.To always be adaptable and informed to ensure the best possible outcome on given assignments.To strive to learn new techniques and operation of new equipment.Have the flexibility to respond to an ever-changing working environment.Ability work unsupervised or and as part of a team.Ability to cope with long working hours.Ability to develop strong working relationships with the National desk, reporters and colleaguesAbility to conduct oneself in a professional manner in all working situations.A clean, full driver's license is essential.Uphold the company values and expected behaviours in all undertakings related to your employmentThe Employee shall ensure they are familiar with the Employer's policies and procedures, and any modifications to those policies and procedures that may be introduced from time to time.Carry out your work safely and without endangering or causing harm to yourself, fellow staff members, contractors, customers, visitors, or the general public.Other duties as required.The Company may, after fair and reasonable consultation, change your duties, from time to time, for commercial reasons but not so as to substantially change the nature of the position.
