  We are seeking a Buyer/Planner to join our Anderson-Negele team at our Spartanburg, SC location. The Buyer/Planner serves as a critical role to Anderson-Negele by working to procure vital parts and components for the manufacturing team. This position will focus on raw material buying, planning and inventory control. In this position you will ensure suppliers meet quality, delivery, and cost targets to ensure on-time delivery of finished goods to our customers. This materials-focused role will use Fortive Materials System (FMS) methods to consistently deliver materials. The Buyer/Planner must establish strong relationships with suppliers and therefore requires strong communication skills. This role focuses on timely and accurate transactional work, cross-functional collaboration, and diligent follow-up to ensure completion of critical tasks.

  In this role you will:

  Coordinate and execute the procurement and purchasing process from the intent to purchase, through the delivery of product, including order reconciliation for direct and indirect materials.

  Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships.

  Understand material specifications and quality metrics affecting assigned parts; work collaboratively to resolve quality issues with suppliers.

  Blanket purchase order maintenance, placing PO releases for materials, confirming deliveries with suppliers.

  Support production team daily ensuring a continuous flow of material. Resolve any line-down issues including expediting material as needed to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

  Track root causes for on-time delivery misses / stock-outs and suggest or implement appropriate corrective actions.

  Communicate and coordinate delivery information with operations and customer service teams.

  Monitor, sustain and continuously improve Kanban system including planning for spike orders and re-sizing (re-calculating bins) to meet current demand.

  Understand commodity market index and act accordingly on open commitment.

  Track and develop supplier performance and provide regular feedback to relevant stakeholders, and set clear expectations with suppliers.

  Collaborate with colleagues in the finance department to resolve supplier payment issues.

  Demonstrate analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.

  Understand Bill of Materials and inventory control.

  Contribute to inventory turns and working capital continuous improvement.

  Daily review of Dynamic Kanban system reports to provide accurate and timely resolution of material shortages. Maintain all vendor information on Kanban cards for accurate Kanban calculations. Ensure the cell is tripping kanban properly and work with the Team Leader to fix issues with triggers in the cells.

  On your first day, we’ll expect that you’ll have:

  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, MBA or other related field with a focus on supply chain

  Experience with MS Office suite, specifically Excel, required

  Lean manufacturing experience

  Electronics and/or beverage industry knowledge

  High mix / low volume purchasing experience

  CPIM or CSCP certifications (preferred, not required)

  Experience with electronic component sourcing and PCBA (preferred, not required)
