They will ensure that purchases are the required quality and quantity, at the most economical cost, and of timely delivery.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Issue purchase orders according to MRP demand and incoming requisition formsAnalyze MRP demand and adjust orders according to real needsUpdate item data settings to improve MRP demandReview shortage report and complete necessary actions to avoid production shortages, including communication with vendors, production, and the warehouseManage scheduling of open orders based on production planning modificationsManage vendor warranty claimsQualify new vendor capacities based on set qualifications and eliminate underperforming suppliersPrepare and issue RFQ requests, and compare MOQ, payment terms, freight conditions, etc.Challenge vendors quotes and drive cost down and report cost reductionsManage PPVs on a regular basisMaintain clear and efficient communication with internal and external personnelCoordinate meetings and prepare needed materialsOther duties as designated by department manager.Establish standards and procedures for continuous improvement.Maintain currency with respect to technical and supervisory skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.Other duties may be assigned as neededQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experienceAPICS certification preferred2-4 years of related purchasing experience in a manufacturing environmentProven negotiation skillsStrong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skillsExperience with an ERP system (Infor/Baan preferred)Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel at an advanced levelPay Range: $60k-$70kIf you believe you need a reasonable accommodation in order to search for a job opening or to submit an application, please at [email protected].
