Position Summary
This position reviews and analyzes raw material requirements based upon both the weekly planned production schedule, and future forecasted production demands. This role will issue and maintain purchase orders and will work directly with suppliers and transportation parties to ensure on-time delivery of quality raw materials meeting the scheduled production demands. To be successful, this position must continuously collaborate with demand planners, sourcing managers, schedulers and manufacturing as well as tactically manage suppliers to ensure a consistent flow of production throughout the supply chain.
Position Responsibilities
Utilizes ERP to issue purchase orders to suppliers: Should be familiar with the purchasing SOP/method for his/her assigned site/commodities suppliers.
Follows up on past due PO’s and works with suppliers to secure timely delivery of material to meet production demands. Will need to expedite material from supplier if necessary.
Works with Sourcing team to resolve PO pricing issues and various other issues regarding raw material.
Reduces total cost through the optimization of order management, routing of shipments and consolidation of supply between suppliers while meeting fill rate and inventory requirements.
Support payables process in troubleshooting invoice discrepancies.
Directs overall raw material, finished product, and WIP inventory levels to ensure proper fill rate and delivery metrics.
Tracks international container orders and follows routing, communicates with team to ensure that container destuffing and transfers are scheduled appropriately and in a timely manner.
Provides weekly updates regarding stock levels/locations and incoming product. Minimize backorder through timely stock transfers.
Utilizes Smoothie software to monitor and adjust forecasts based on actual performance and demand data and updated information from vendors.
Provides detailed analysis of cost vs sale price and makes recommendations in order to assist management in decision making.
May utilize basic spreadsheets and ERP System to analyze raw material usage, days/weeks on hand, and to determine root causes of raw material outages and purchase order receiving discrepancies.
Knowledge and Experience
Work experience utilizing MRP / DRP / MPS in ERP software packages.
Focused / Detail oriented work style producing comprehensive work.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Bi-lingual in French and English required for QC location.
High competency level with Microsoft Excel and Outlook, including the ability to generate Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP formulas.
Demonstrated Interpersonal / Collaborative skills and ability.
Demonstrated Problem Solving, Negotiation, and Decision-Making skills.
One (1) to three (3) years relevant job experience within a manufacturing environment
SAP working experience preferred.
Education and Certification
