Job Summary:
Flowserve is looking for a Buyer to help achieve our team's goals by ensuring the purchase of subcontracted components and services under the best conditions of price, quality and deadlines, in accordance with the recommendations of the global Supply Chain team. In this role, the buyer will develop and implement purchasing strategies, supporting the Commercial Operations team in relation to advance purchasing activities, developing our strategy in the engineering markets, with the aim of increasing our profitability and on-time delivery. The buyer will work to strengthen the alignment between the company's purchasing strategy and the business strategy. Having full control of the supplier portfolio, you will work closely with the procurement team to improve our delivery.
The Buyer will also oversee the fulfillment of logistics requirements for a multi-site area in the region. You will be responsible for implementing and executing site-specific logistics strategies, as well as maintaining an effective working relationship with key logistics providers to maximize Flowserve's logistics capabilities and enhance the customer experience from order to delivery.
Responsibilities:
Analyse data on large data sets to asses the performance of the logistics system for the site(s)
Implement processes and procedures in accordance with the global logistics vision and strategy to achieve the desired performance level
Ensure adherence to global logistics policies and procedures as well as promote and provide training on these policies
Assess and communicate the operational and financial performances of the site(s), including variance analysis, root-case/counter measures analysis, performance to revenue, and service levels
Prepare and facilitate the monthly business reviews showcasing spend, savings, lost opportunity spend and updates on site(s) performance.
Provide oversight of all transportation services and modes both international and domestic to assist the site(s) in achieving logistics expectations using the Logistics Data Repository and ERPs
Conduct training as needed on all logistics requirements: project management, process improvement, negotiation, sourcing, metrics reporting, incoterms, “lost profit” and performance to revenue
Work with site logistics teams to reduce lost opportunity spend through usage of Flowserve’s Authorized Vendor List (AVL) ensuring the routing guides are followed but also updated as needed
Ensure any savings are managed and reported accurately and timely
Execution of Just in Time principles in the supply of all material required for the complete manufacturing of the facility projects.
Negotiate the best prices and commercial conditions to ensure best supply of components maximizing the profit.
Support the service centers at customer quotation stage to achieve the best quotations to ensure a competitive advantage edge on pricing and delivery terms.
Follow up on orders placed to ensure on time delivery on both external suppliers and intercompany orders.
Proactively identify and resolve any issues with the importing processes of goods to the local service center as well as coordination and problem solving for fulfilling contractual deliveries.
Setting up supply agreements with key suppliers to ensure preferential pricing and delivery.
Review of stock levels to ensure optimal inventory is held on site.

Requirements:
Experience in transport logistics or order processing in a globally active company
Solid knowledge and proficiency using Incoterms and customs regulations
Willingness to travel
Purchasing techniques proficiency
Knowledge and implementation at the purchasing level of technical requirements and quality related to products
Fluency in English
Good understanding of all the main purchasing areas: negotiations, evaluation and development of suppliers, supplier quality, logistics etc.
Knowledge of the requirements of our markets
Global and strategic negotiating skills
BS or BA Degree in relevant field and / or 0-2 years relevant experience
