Job Overview
This position will be responsible for procuring materials, services, equipment, and supplies used in the manufacturing of control panels. Additionally, the Buyer will assist with the inventory control of material working closely with our production managers. The Buyer will manage the relationship with assigned suppliers to achieve company business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepares purchase orders, monitors on-hand inventory, and makes bid requests.
· Work with vendors in negotiating pricing, reviewing bid proposals, and negotiating orders.
· Working with the purchasing manager you will help to manages vendor performance.
· Work with the plant to provide materials and services promptly.
· Obtain quotes, negotiate terms, issue purchase orders, implement PO variations/changes, ensure delivery dates, monitor supplier’s compliance to agreement and terms, and maintain documents and records as required.
· Promptly resolve price and quantity discrepancies.
· Monitor and manage claims to vendors for defectives, shortages, missing parts, etc.
· All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
· AA degree, its equivalent or higher is preferred.
· Minimum of 3 years purchasing experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and excellent Excel skills
