The Buyer reports to the Director ofPurchasing and works alongside Sales, Customer Service, Engineering andQuality to support Estimating and Operations in support of ourcustomers. Support continuousimprovement. Create Purchase Orders for subcontracted services (welding,paint, fabrication) in support of the production schedule Review OrderAcknowledgments for accuracy and update JobBOSS with dates Run OpenOrder Report, follow-up with suppliers for delivery dates and past duedates, communicate delays Identify alternative sources, evaluateproposals, support the approval process of new suppliers andrecertification of existing suppliers Support Estimating team inmanaging Request for Quotes (RFQs) to suppliers Review product printsand specifications for accuracy Support purchasing of raw materials andsupplies as needed Cultivate effective relationships with Suppliers andSubcontractors based upon mutually beneficial business. Assess supplierperformance and regularly communicate feedback to suppliers Ensure thatall procured items/services meet the required quality standards andspecifications. Ensure customers\' intellectual property is protectedwhen information is shared with partners Ensure suppliers andsubcontractors comply with GenMet\'s shipping, receiving and invoicingrequirements. Support incoming material certifications Proactivelyresolve corrective actions, non-conforming products, and deviations.Meet or exceed on-time delivery by managing and prioritizing capacity.Continually strive to reduce lead time, improve efficiency, and managerisk. Communicate with operations to determine and manage inventory andcycle count needs. Support compliance with ISO9001, ITAR, OSHA, DNR,other applicable standards and Non-Disclosure Agreements Update andmaintain the supplier manual, supplier database, purchase records, andrelated documentation.
