Position: Buyer Position Scope: Responsible for procurement, source to pay and supply management of assigned items & spend categories. Ensure alignment of the materials sourcing and supply strategy with business strategies together with multi-functional stakeholders (Operations, Finance, Commercial & Marketing). Position Duties: Develop strategic objectives that focus on areas of quality, cost, flexibility, productivity and speed. Ensure the continuous availability of quality materials and finished components. Accurately identify risks that affect the supply, transformation, delivery and customer demand. Develop materials supply and delivery processes supportive of business requirements. Utilize material requirement planning (MRP), capacity management and advanced planning system technologies to manage material supply. Manage receipt routings for materials and liaise w/ the relevant stakeholders on inventory transactions for all materials issues and transfers. Conduct RFP's and RFQ's in conjunction with originating departments. Provide procurement expertise support of third party lens, new films, capital equipment sourcing and purchases. Assist in the sourcing of materials and suppliers for new products and projects - originated from Operations, R&D or other stakeholders. Monitor supplier performance using a supplier rating program that monitors, measures and provides feedback on performance. Initiate process improvements that are enabled and supported by right use of technology/system. Create and maintain work instruction, processes and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.
