Job Purpose and Primary Objectives:
Benchmark is looking for an organized, business-minded intern to assist and learn from our fast-paced Business Development team. The BD team is on the pulse of our exciting industry, monitoring technology and regulatory trends, launch activity, space sustainability initiatives, competitive intel, commercial and government objectives and more. This role will support a range of sales and marketing-related activities.
This role is based in our Burlington, Vermont location, with some remote work possible.
About Benchmark:
Benchmark designs and produces propulsion systems that maneuver small satellites between low earth orbit and the moon. These systems utilize non-toxic propellants to provide thrust to transfer to a specific orbit, maintain position, avoid collisions, and a range of other applications. These capabilities enable activities such as on-orbit refueling, in-space manufacturing, re-entry, and more. Measurements of Success/Primary Job Responsibilities:
At its core, Benchmark is an entrepreneurial, fast-paced organization. In this environment, we need all employees to solve problems and not be afraid to ask questions. Below are the basic support needs we will explore, and dive into areas where our candidates show aptitude. Candidates are not expected to have experience in all of these areas:
Assist with proposal process documentation and adherence to established templates.
Perform data entry, maintenance, tracking and analysis.
Perform competitive analysis research.
Support creative marketing tasks such as basic design and photography.
Assist with event planning and logistics.
Manage inventory of promotional items and sales collateral.
Assist with PR and social media content creation, posting and social listening.
Perform misc. in-office tasks, such as organizing, packing, hanging items, setting up displays, etc.
Take direction and effectively balance multiple projects/workloads simultaneously.
Proactively and regularly communicate status of assignments.
At all times, maintain Benchmark's outstanding reputation for operating at the highest levels of honesty, integrity, accountability, and transparency.
Education and/or Experience:
Candidates must be an upcoming Junior or Senior of an undergraduate program in a closely related field. Required Qualifications:
A passion for space technology and emerging ecosystems in and around current and future space activities.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Adobe Creative suite and basic HTML are a plus.
Possess the ability, agility, and can-do attitude to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and matrixed cross-functional environment.
