What’s a typical day as a Business Development Manager? You’ll be:
• Identifying and targeting new market opportunities.
• Developing, building, and managing a client database of prospects.
• Participating in trade shows, conferences, and community events to help promote the company.
• Using existing contacts and other means to create leads.
• Building and sustaining strong customer relationships to maintain existing customers.
• Identifying potential business partners and negotiating agreements.
• Participating in new business contract negotiations.
• Distributing customer information packets to prospects.
• Ensuring all proposals are approved prior to presenting them to the customer.
• Ensuring prospects receive marketing literature and price quotes, answering any questions and obtaining any further information necessary to close new business.
• Responding to all inquiries and requests for quotes in a timely manner.
• Maintaining records and tracking of all proposals in progress and timely follow-up to maximize sales opportunities.
• Arranging appointments to give sales presentations to potential customers.
• Preparing and presenting proposals in a complete and professional manner, according to company standards.
• Understanding and identifying customer needs and expectations to recommend specific offerings and services.
• Communicating any problem areas to appropriate parties and working to find immediate resolutions.
• Staying up-to-date on industry and market knowledge.
• Discussing any unique requests or concerns from customers with the Business Development VP.
• Coordinating and implementing targeted marketing initiatives.
• Making direct contact, under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Business Development, with prospects that have applied for factoring and are working their way through the Underwriting and funding process.
• Making direct contact with referral brokers to help clarify questions or issues related to their commission statements.
• Ensuring that information in our CRM Salesforce is accurate and being willing to call prospects to request additional info and upload to CRM.
• Providing various sales reports to management.
• Working schedule will generally be 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday, however there may be times when it would be necessary to assist the sales process during off hours.
Requirements:
• Have a Bachelor's degree in marketing or at least five years of sales experience.
• Have factoring sales experience.
• Are able to handle multiple functions at the same time and remain focused through daily interruptions.
• Have the ability to work quickly, proficiently, and efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Have strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Possess strong organizational skills.
