You will be accountable for sales of Analytical Sales, Process AutomationMeasurement & Analytics (PAMA), driving sales volumes and margins.To grow the ABB Leak Detection and Emissions Monitoring business in the US(United States) by executing a strategic plan and building partnershipswith customers in the segment. The business will include mobile, portable,drone and stationary equipment for measuring natural gas leaks as well asemissions. Responsibility: To identify potential customers and present ABB LeakDetection and Emission Monitoring solutions that are fit-for-purpose for ourcustomers. The individual will drive and support our customers, work withour entire sales team to grow the businessGoal: Grow ABB's Leak Detection and Emissions Monitoring business in theUS. The Business Development Manager is the front line of offering andexecuting ABB solutions. Candidate must be technical, well spoken and drivento succeedMarket analysis: Monitor market trends and recommend adjustments for thestrategy and plans accordingly to meet changing market and competitivelandscapes. Provides appropriate market information for long to mid termdecision makingMarketing: Communicates the end user value proposition for Leak Detectionand Emissions Monitoring (internally and externally). Supports local Salesorganization to have an effective perception of our solutions Creates andimplements the communication, promotion and training activities in the segmentTargets: Responsible for achieving key targets (example volume, priceand mix) for products and services in the US. Creates detailed businessplans, implements with regular follow upAccount management: Ensures major customer accounts in the US are identifiedand prioritized. Will obviously include Account Management for new andexisting accounts in conjunction with other team members and possibly foraccounts across the country and around the worldCustomer relationship: Builds and maintains strong relationships with thekey customers in the US. Follows up ABB's performance in fulfilling theirneeds and communicates deficiencies and/or opportunities to the respectiveBusiness Units/Product GroupsContracts and negotiations: Works closely with the relevant Salesorganization to help in the identification and capture of future business.Drives the capture of end user/third party agreements. Helps negotiatecomplex legal and commercial frame agreementsRisk: Identifies and manages potential risks relating to contract agreementsand prices across segmentsReporting: Reports by segment to accurately measure progress and uses commontools to identify future opportunitiesYour background
Associates Degree in technology and minimum 5 years experience ininstrumentation and analytics as either a customer, selling, technician orproject managerAbility to develop relationships at all levels in ABB, our channel partnersand our end users (from field personnel to corner office)Obsessive focus on end users, their wants and needs, their goals andobjectives, how they buy, how they maintain their equipment, how theypartner with suppliersSolid understanding of natural gas industry segment and specifically LeakDetection is also an assetLeverage any existing relationships in the industry to bring new sellingopportunities to ABBAbility to design solutions particular to the customer's needs while drivingABB products into the solutionCompetitor knowledge; Passion for winningResilience to overcome challengesGood time/activity and priority management skillsStrong willingness to learn and passion for successOvernight travel is estimated to be up to 130 nights per year (30 to 50percent) depending on business intensity.
