Description
An Intern will collaborate with our teams to support a Burns & McDonnell Department, Global Practice or Regional Office. This position will provide support and assistance with requests in support of the business strategy.
Assist with developing comprehensive business continuity strategies, policies, and procedures for IT systems hosted in the cloud, aligned with industry best practices and compliance requirements.
Assist with identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities in cloud-based IT infrastructure and applications and conducted regular risk assessments and impact analyses.
Exposure to cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, security, and legal, to ensure business continuity plans are integrated and aligned with overall organizational goals.
Assist with the implementation of cloud-based disaster recovery solutions to minimize downtime and ensure rapid recovery in the event of a disruption or outage.
Assist with the delivery of training programs and awareness campaigns to educate employees on their roles and responsibilities during a crisis and facilitate a culture of preparedness.
Assist with exercises, simulations, and tests to evaluate plan readiness and effectiveness and identify improvement areas.
All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
In pursuit of Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or closely related degree.
Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
