We study how the nervous system works - how it is built, how it operateson cellular and systems levels, how drugs affect it, and how it isdamaged in neurodegenerative diseases. Job Summary
The job provides specialized business support for routine office andlocation support activities. Identifies, enhances, and follows specificprocesses and procedures to maximize the efficiencies for which thesupport is being provided by working autonomously within establishedprocedures and practices. Ensures the correct functioning of facilities,office and/or business support services.
Responsibilities
Provide financial support with bill pay and reimbursements throughprocurement systems: GEMS, e-payment and Buysite.May initiate correspondence and other written materials under ownsignature or for signature of the leader. Triages emails andtelephone calls for action. Resolves a combination of some routineand complex inquiries.Schedules meetings and maintains the Chair\'s calendar.Provides office management through:Conference Room management.Ensure all office materials are stocked.Coordinates access and maintains key inventory for current andnew personnel.Provides support to all departmental staff and labs on physicalspace management.Provides event planning organization:Order and set up catering.Travel organization for guests.Room reservations.Create travel dossiers and on-campus itineraries.Provide coordination on day of event.Reimbursement and bill pay.Coordinates special projects as directed by the leader. Prepareswrite ups for recommendations for operational and administrativeproblems. Manages a portion of the leader\'s budget, monitoring andreconciling accounts. Prepares financial and/or administrativereports.Provides administrative support for a leader. Stays informed ofactivities relating to programs and initiatives, apprising theleader of issues when deemed necessary. Coordinates information flowfrom leader\'s office.Prepare special reports and summaries, assists in managing dailyoperation of the office, and may assist in developing administrativegoals and policies. Maintains the leader\'s calendar.Performs other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or theequivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have afour-year degree).
