Summary About the Position: This position is located a XVIII Airborne Corp, Fort Liberty, North Carolina, "Home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces". It is a culturally diverse area with both rural and city populations and is co-located at Fayetteville, NC. It is centrally located just hours away from the beautiful beaches of North Carolina and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains. Responsibilities Perform routine budget administration functions in the formulation, executions, and review of the assigned organization’s budget. Determine the validity of obligations in accordance with law or policy. Verify that commitments and obligations occur on a timely basis in accordance with the monthly obligation plan. Report immediately any variations in excess of accepted funding limitations to the Team Leader, First Line Supervisor, or the XVIII Airborne Corps G8. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes budget formulation and execution; experience developing, justifying, and presenting budget estimates to support goals; experience preparing budget documents, summaries and reports; experience using automated financial accounting systems in the budgetary process (i.e. General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), Global Combat Support-Army (GCSS-A), Defense Travel System (DTS). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Accounting, and Finance Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
