　　Position Title: Budget Analyst 1

　　Location: Phoenix, AZ, 85012

　　Anticipated Start Date: ASAP.

　　Expected Duration: 06 plus months contract.

　　Job Type: Contract role/40 hours a Week/Onsite.

　　Pay Range: \$24/hr on W2, to \$26/hr on W2.

　　Requirements:

　　Experience in an office setting Previous experience with Accounting andBudget Department.

　　High School Diploma Bachelor\'s Degree preferred.

　　Job Description:

　　Under the direction of the Financial Analyst III in the DCS BudgetOffice, this position serves as an entry level position that is assignedto one or more specialized/smaller programs.

　　The analyst performs detailed fiscal analysis for all assigned area andserves as the primary point of contact for their assigned programs.

　　The position prepares a variety of fiscal and operating reports andcompletes assignments in a timely manner with a quality work product.

　　Keywords:

　　o Monitors budget utilization and expenditures. Researches and analyzesexpenditure for the purpose of reporting fiscal position, preparingforecasts and reports. Provides financial expertise to department onfinancial forecasts and programmatic trends for assigned areas.Identify, research, and analyze possible impacts of proposed legislationand funding modification for assigned area.

　　o Compiles expenditure, appropriation and obligations data to monitorand interpret financial information. Meets with DCS Budget management toreview expenditure trends, anticipated needs, and projections.

　　o Perform regular and ad-hoc financial, staffing and caseload analysisand present to Budget leadership. Research and analyze expendituretrends for the purpose of reporting fiscal position.

　　o Supports the Financial Analyst II and III in developing the annualbudget request by compiling historical expenditure data and estimatingfuture costs. Gathers and validates data, confers with agency officialsin order to make determinations for budget development and planning.

　　o Determines funding needs of assigned programs and initiatestransactions including transfers, journal vouchers, expenditurecorrections, and other like documents. Approves/oversees purchase orderapprovals for assigned programmatic area.
