The CBS Evening News Broadcast Associate is an entry-level position which supports all members of the broadcast. The ideal candidate is a team player with exceptional organizational skills, is detail-oriented, and can both multi-task and keep a calm head under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.

　　Schedule: This position is based in the New York City Broadcast Center and requires in person work, five days per week. 9:30AM - 7PM Hours.

　　Responsibilities:

　　General news desk duties (answer telephones, screen viewer mail/email, receive and distribute mail for entire staff, various administrative assignments).

　　Assist producers in various capacities (transcribe tape, retrieve archive tape, research stories).

　　Set up logistics for Zoom interviews and log interviews for producers.

　　Attend twice daily rundown meetings (morning and afternoon) and pitch stories at morning staff meeting.

　　Prepare nightly opposition log (detailing content of CBS broadcast which is later inputted into larger log detailing competitors broadcasts).

　　Complete daily Rights Manager file which details all outside footage/photos used in nights broadcast.

　　Assist Producers in all bureaus as needed (feeding tape, etc.).

　　Qualifications:

　　Internship or comparable experience working on a news broadcast.

　　College degree desired.

　　Prior work in a newsroom setting is preferred.

　　Able to work under pressure and under strict deadlines.

　　Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.

　　Able to work flexible schedules, including holidays, weekend, and nights.

　　Hiring Salary Range: $48,000.00 - 50,000.00.

　　The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
