  Job Summary

  HRI, Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction since 1947 and a Colas company, has an opening for an experienced energetic General Bridge Superintendent for its structure bridge projects. The qualified candidate will be experienced in Heavy Civil construction including bridges, excavations, and PennDOT work. Our operating market includes Central, Southern, Eastern and Western parts of Pennsylvania.A project superintendent will forecast the number of employees, materials, and equipment needed to efficiently perform assigned project(s) while being compliant with all safety standards.The successful candidate will regulate multiple areas of the project to ensure that the project is completed within budget, on time, and following all safety precautions. Candidate must have experience with PennDOT and large project operations management.

  Main Responsibilities

  Abide by all safety requirements and enforce the same for all employeesDemonstrate a high level of professional ethics and enforce other team members to exhibit the same qualitiesRegulates and supervises all job site activitiesCoordinates with Foreman and project management to ensure progression of the project in a timely mannerDelegates tasks to be completed by foreman and regulates the completion of successful day-to-day operationsResolves conflicts that arise during maintenance of the projectCommunicate with subcontractors and other employees to ensure procurement of supplies and materials neededVerify accurate inventory of materials and equipmentReviews assigned project's daily cost

  Main Responsibilities (Continued)

  Attends and plans meetings as necessaryExhibits a professional and positive attitude while interacting with vendors and suppliersAdvise team members and mentor a teamAspires to complete project on time in accordance with the contract owners and subcontractors while following safety standardsFormulates good on the spot decision making and provides effective problem-solving solutionsDiscloses any problems with the site including but not limited to accidents, injuries, and damages to equipmentCoordinates with safety team and human resources to ensure all company and government safety regulations are being metMeasures, along with the project manager, the progress of project and ensure tasks are completed as discussed in contractRegulates communication of team members and subcontractorsCompletes any additional assignments as needed

  Education

  Degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred but not r quiredValid driver's license with clean driving history

  Skills

  A minimum of 5 years experience on management of large projects and PennDOT experience preferredAbility to read and understand construction documents and blueprintsEffectively communicate with subcontractors, employees, and superiorsAdvanced ability to interpret and review construction plans and drawingsAdvance ability to use software applications including HCSS and Heavy Job

  Physical Requirements

  Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company safety guidelinesRegularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objectsFrequent exposure to loud noisesRegularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particlesRequired to work varying hours, including nights/ weekends as requiredRegularly required to communicate (talk and hear)Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and armsStanding/working on feet for long periodsMust comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirementsProven track record working safelyGood work ethic, professional, and positive attitude
