  Join our dynamic team as a Bridge Engineer III in the HNTB Houston office! Take the lead in crafting innovative design solutions for a variety of projects, collaborating closely with project managers to bring ideas to life. Utilize your engineering expertise to produce cutting-edge design calculations, technical reports, and specifications. You'll contribute to the execution and evaluation of project designs, leveraging your technical knowledge and fostering client relationships. Dive into conceptual and detailed designs, utilizing the latest tools and software. Mentor and guide junior engineers, ensuring the success of our diverse range of projects and be a driving force in the successful delivery of impactful projects for our esteemed clients.

  What You'll Do:

  Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.

  Assist in the development of project specifications.

  Responsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.

  Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.

  Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.

  Works closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects.

  Performs quality control reviews of discipline - specific engineering project elements/deliverables.

  Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.

  Performs other duties as assigned.

  What You'll Need:

  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or

  Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 year of relevant experience, or

  PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience

  Primary Focus Will Include:

  Independent creation of structural computations for design, analysis, and quantity takeoffs, for bridges and other transportation structures.

  Responsible for development of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for structural work on transportation infrastructure projects ranging from simple to complex.

  Perform quality control of structural design calculations, drawings and cost estimates for various transportation structures following HNTB's Quality process.

  Perform interdisciplinary coordination to collaborate with project team members and to promote consistency and compatibility in project design.

  Provide innovative technical solutions to complex infrastructure problems through all phases of project, from planning through final design to assistance during construction.

  Optimizing work processes by using knowledge of the most effective and efficient ways to get things done with a focus on continuous improvement.

  Managing time, proactively forecasting, and communicating project development needs.

  What We Prefer:

  Master’s degree in Engineering

  Engineer in Training (EIT) certification

  Professional Engineer (PE) certification

  Experience with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications

  Experience with bridge design software such as: PG Super (Bridge Link), LEAP Bridge, CSI Bridge, Open Bridge Modeler, or similar software

  Experience with CADD software, primarily Bentley MicroStation
