　　Primary ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities of the Bridge Engineer will be applying structural engineering and detailing techniques tolead bridge aspects of projects. The types of projects include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete beams, etc.)box culvert layout, retaining wall design and substructure design. Regular activities include selecting standard bridgeengineering/design procedures; producing structural design using specialized software such as Microstation, Excel,MathCAD and the PennDOT suite of programs; and performing structural load calculations as well as assisting withgeometric layout and quantity development. The Bridge Engineer will also be responsible for reviewing and/or checkingdesign calculations, drawings, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs. Will be responsible for monitoring task progress and for technical coordination with other disciplines. Perform other duties as needed.
