Description We are looking for a diligent Billing Clerk to join our team in the non-profit sector in Akron, Ohio. This role involves handling various billing tasks including processing bills, working on claim denials, and posting payments. This position offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity where the individual will have a chance to play a significant role in managing clients' accounts and ensuring their credit standing.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and process client bills accurately and promptly
• Handle claim denials and work towards resolution
• Post payments to relevant accounts in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate records of all billing activities
• Proactively address and respond to billing inquiries from clients
• Monitor client accounts regularly for irregularities and overdue payments
• Take necessary action to collect payments from clients when required
• Ensure all billing processes adhere to the standards and regulations of the non-profit industry
• Use the skills of medical billing and denials to improve the efficiency of the billing process
• Work collaboratively with the team to achieve overall organizational goals in client service and financial management. Requirements • Proven experience as a Billing Clerk or similar role in the non-profit sector for at least one year
• Proficient in billing procedures and strong numerical skills
• Knowledge of medical billing procedures and claim denials
• Familiarity with billing software and electronic medical records
• Strong ability to handle sensitive and confidential information according to policy
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask
• Detail-oriented with a knack for spotting errors and discrepancies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in accounting or a related field will be considered a plus
