As an antiracist, multiculturalorganization, NELCWIT also joins with and mobilizes other groups andindividuals who are working to end domestic violence and sexual abuse,ensure human rights, and create social change. Job Summary: The Bilingual Domestic and Sexual ViolenceCounselor/Advocate is a member of NELCWIT\'s counseling and advocacyteam. This position provides crisis support and short-term counselingand advocacy for individuals and families whose lives have been impactedby sexual or domestic violence. This position must be able to provideall our services fluently in both English and Spanish. The position isbased in our Greenfield office (remote during COVID). This is afull-time (35 hours per week) non-exempt position and is part ofNELCWIT\'s collective bargaining unit. Essential Job Functions: Provideindividual and group support services, crisis intervention andshort-term counseling for individuals and families who have experienceddomestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Developplans for supporting clients, including safety plans, and provideinformation and referrals for on-ongoing services. Provide medical,police, and legal advocacy for clients. Provide resources and referralsto survivors regarding housing, basic needs, and other community supportservices. Provide crisis counseling and support for survivors ofdomestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking who walk infor crisis intervention without appointments as needed. Providecounseling and advocacy on NELCWIT\'s crisis line for survivors ofdomestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking as needed.Qualifications: Must be fluently bilingual (Spanish-English) AnAssociate\'s degree or higher in a relevant discipline and/or relevantlife and work experience. Basis computer literacy and willingness to usedata entry software programs for data collection. Knowledge of FranklinCounty area and resources. Ability to model and uphold appropriateboundaries in work with clients, co-workers, supervisor, and community.Commitment to social change through active participation in undoingracism, classism, homophobia, ableism, ageism, and all oppression.Willingness to learn about and actively use multicultural awareness andunderstanding in daily work.
