Job Purpose
This position functions as the lead of the Benefits Department and is the leader responsible for identifying customer needs and driving appropriate strategic solutions related to employee health and wellness programs across all markets.
Essential Functions
Collaborate with leadership to review, recommend and implement benefit changes annually by participating in vendor review, plan design discussion and budgeting processes.
Assist with creating and execute on long-term strategy for the design and administration of employee benefits, including all tactical aspects such as open enrollment, vendor management / negotiations, and plan communications; ensure all required document is filed accurately and timely (e.g., 5500s); ensure plan designs are within budget
Drive employee engagement in benefit programs through strategic initiatives around communication, education, and branding
Manage a team who handles day-to-day administration of employee and retiree benefits plans and serve as the escalation point for complex inquiries
Provide in-depth analysis, review and presentation of financial reports in order to design and implement effective and innovative benefit plans/programs
Ensure benefit programs are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and laws
Support decision making, problem solving, solution design and engagement between key subject matter experts, stakeholders, and vendors
Lead for health & wellness vendor relationships
Responsible for the development of financial models to accurately determine the ROI on benefit projects
Communicate detailed plan provisions or changes to individuals or groups in a way that the content is understood by those impacted
Education
Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalentExperience/Background
7+ years’ experience in similar role.
Strong understanding of Benefits programs.
Experience working with cross functional teams to drive results; the ability to lead through change and influence leaders and team members to drive winning outcomes.
Self-directed, motivated, dependable, detail-oriented, and be a strong team player; this includes showing a drive for results, inquisitiveness, and adaptability.
Must have strong business acumen to perform financial, trend and variance analysis, identify cost drivers, while also understanding business strategy
Special Knowledge/Skills
Excellent analytical and communication skills, business acumen, and proactively partner with senior business leaders.
Current working knowledge of HR and benefit related laws, regulations and standard practices
Strong computer literacy with HRIS and Microsoft Office programs
Ability to influence peers through positive approach and energy
Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality
Self-starter with strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities. Detail-oriented
