Summary:
The Behavioral Care Partner works closely with psychiatric and non-psychiatric patients on Cook Children's psychiatric or non-psychiatric units such as medical/surgical floors, PICU, or the Emergency Department. Behavioral Care Partners care for children during their stay to assist them with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, and the management of harmful behaviors. Responsible for delivering competent and skilled care to patients and families with a team-oriented approach and an emphasis on good customer relations under the direction of the RN/LVN.
Schedule: This is a part-time day shift /24 hours per week. The schedule will vary.
Required Education/Experience:
High school Diploma.• ne of the following: A. Completion of a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) course. (Or) B. Completion of Medical Assistant (MA) course or other comparable health care provider program with course work in patient assessment/vital signs, growth and development. (Or) C. Completion of the first clinical semester in an accredited nursing program.Experience working with children/adolescents in an inpatient psychiatry or partial hospital psychiatric treatment is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
BLS or must be completed within 60 days of start date.CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Childrens Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date.
