Workers are neededto raise and care for our honeybees. The worker will build and maintainbeehives, extract and bottle honey, remove hive parasites andmaintaining the health of the hive. Workers will assemble beehives tothe desired specifications, force bees from a hive using a smoke pot toinspect the hive, destroy excess queen bee cells to prevent the divisionof a colony, treat hives for parasites and remove vermin, extractinghoney from beehive frames. Workers will also cultivate queen bees tosell to other apiaries as well as split colonies. Workers will performother farm-related duties such as carpentry and other basic woodworkingtasks. The employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools andequipment required to perform assigned duties. Workers must be able towork in various extreme weather conditions from damp and cold spring andfall days to hot and humid summer days. Work is physically demandingrequiring workers to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periodsof time, as well as kneeling or work on knees during specified tasks.Workers may require to work 7 hours shift within the hours of 8:00am -7:00pm. Worker will be given at least 30 minutes for lunch. Workers mustbe able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Workersmust be available for work Monday through Saturday. Worker must be ableto supervise the work of other workers and train how to work bees. Theability to stay calm under pressure is a must. Workers may operatetrucks or other multipurpose vehicles to transport workers from housing(whether on or off farm) to the farm properties, haul tools, supplies,or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farmproperties during the workday (including on public roads to reachfarmers fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, orlaundry facilities on an as needed basis. Driver\'s license is required.Work will start in South Carolina on March 11, 2024, then will travel toVermont on May 5, 2024. The worker will stay in Vermont until the end ofthe work period on October 30, 2024.
Worker will start job duties in SC then be transported to VT in May atno cost to the workers for the remainder of the job order. Worker willsupervise 3 workers.
The employer will reimburse the H-2A worker in the first workweek forall visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees,including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2A worker.If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer willreimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the placeof recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the workcontract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provideor pay for worker\'s reasonable costs of return transportation andsubsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed towork, except where the worker will not return due to subsequentemployment with another employer. The amount of transportation paymentor reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonablecommon carrier for the distance involved. At the port of entry, theworkers will be provided at no cost, ground transportation by commoncarrier to place of employment. And such transportation will be providedto the worker on their return trip to their country of origin. Workerwill be transported from South Carolina on May 5, 2024, to the state ofVermont in a private owned vehicle by the employer registered in thestate of Vermont. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of\$15.46 per day during ravel to a maximum of \$59.00 per day withreceipts.
