DescriptionThe Baler Operator operates industrial balers and automated bunker system in the recycling plant. Responsible for basic maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.Days: Monday - FridayHours: 8:30 pm - 5:30 pmResponsibilities of Position:Performs duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.Operates industrial balers and automated bunker system in the recycling plant.Performs all assigned basic preventative maintenance on industrial balers and associated equipment.Makes minor repairs and adjustments to industrial balers and associated equipment.Operates computer controlled automated bunker system.Properly utilize balers and bunkers to ensure single stream processing is not interrupted.Responsible for housekeeping in assigned area including equipment and work areas.Maintain timely, appropriate, and professional communications with plan operations, maintenance department, and baler foreman.Provide daily baler production reports to plan operations.Other duties as assigned.Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including lifting, carrying, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and climbing).Ability to use hand tools to remove items present in the finished product.Ability to understand industry quality specifications and standards.Self-starter, aggressive work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.Safety conscious.Good verbal and written communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally and able to follow written and verbal instructions.Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.Exposure to residential and commercial waste.Ability to work flexible hours; overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.Legally eligible to work in the United States.Valid driver's license (if applicable).Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.Must be able to read and speak the English language.This job description is intended to describe the general nature, complexity, and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and/or skills required.
