　　About the Role

　　You’ll be working within an international group of teams which span from the US till India. This group is responsible for building our Client Delivery Framework which is the foundation for all our future web applications at Nielsen. Your specific team will be responsible to build services and UIs to provide various enhancements for our client delivery platform.

　　As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for the system to work behind the scenes. Your role will be to integrate the application with all required systems and services and provide clean and easy to use API for the frontend part of the system.

　　Responsibilities

　　Work closely with frontend developers to design and develop functional, robust APIs to support internal and customer needs

　　Write both unit and integration tests, and develop automation tools for daily tasks

　　Develop high quality, well documented, and efficient code

　　Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloud

　　Optimize internal and external applications for performance and scalability

　　Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met, and write both unit and integration tests

　　Communicate regularly with stakeholders, project managers, quality assurance teams, and other developers regarding progress on long-term technology roadmap

　　Recommend systems solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchased alternatives

　　Key Skills (Domain Expertise)

　　3-5 years of experience as a backend developer in common languages and frameworks (e.g. NodeJS), functional programming in Scala

　　Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering

　　Technical Skills

　　Experience with database systems, with knowledge of SQL and NoSQL stores (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Couchbase, etc.)

　　Significant experience writing and utilizing autonomous services oriented RESTful API services and performance tuning largescale apps

　　Proficiency in NodeJS and TypeScript for backend development.

　　Experience with NestJS (optional but advantageous) for scalable server-side applications

　　Experience integrating with JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Angular JS, etc… is a plus

　　Ability to write effective unit, integration, and API tests

　　Deep knowledge of Object-Oriented programing and engineering principles like SOLID

　　Nice to have knowledge of immutable infrastructure, infrastructure automation and provisioning tools
