What would I be doing?

　　Located just east of downtown Kansas City, Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City is a Midwestern entertainment hub that offers something for everyone. Ameristar Casino has one of the largest casino floors in Missouri, amazing dining venues, a newly renovated luxury hotel, and more. Ameristar also offers convenient parking in a five-level, 2,660 space parking structure with an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway to the casino and entertainment center. Ameristar Casino is seeking a Casual Stage Technician. You will be responsible for company assets within the Entertainment Department and responsible for ensuring all concert and live entertainment are properly planned and executed.

　　Responsibilities

　　Assist in moving, setting up, operating, and maintaining entertainment systems and equipment.

　　Assure that all entertainment equipment is operated in a safe manner.

　　Assure that all equipment is handled in a way that minimizes wear and tear.

　　Take cues from the designed cue caller when in performance mode.

　　Has a general understanding of all the disciplines of stagecraft and works diligently at whatever crew assignments they are given.

　　Job Tasks must be finished in a timely manner according to department standards.

　　Operate sound PA in specified entertainment venues.

　　Troubleshoot and repair minor audio problems.

　　Assist audio technicians, production supervisor and entertainment manager as needed.

　　Assist entertainers as needed.

　　Clean all equipment and entertainment areas regularly.

　　Assist in organizing/maintaining, stage gear, audio equipment, and sound booth.

　　Actively contribute to the development and ongoing refinement of department objectives.

　　Complete special projects as assigned.

　　Assist in show day production.

　　What are we looking for?

　　An understanding of technical set up documentation such as stage plots, light plots, audio plots, patch sheets, cheat sheets, etc.

　　Must be a team player with a positive attitude.

　　Must be a problem solver that takes direction well.

　　Must be available and willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

　　Strong leadership role.

　　Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

　　High School Diploma or equivalent.

　　Minimum of two years of experience in general stagecraft as a stagehand or stage crew member.

　　Minimum of one year of experience in a specialized discipline.

　　Excellent written and verbal communication required with sound administrative skills.

　　General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is a plus.

　　Organizational skills required.

　　A knowledge and understanding of technical and theatrical terminology.

　　A thorough understanding of stage direction, scripts, cues, cue calling and standard operating procedure manuals.

　　A general understanding of OSHA codes pertaining to theatre and electrical safety.

　　Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses, including state issued gaming license.

　　Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
