Description
A premiere plaintiff’s law firm, located in Northern NJ and recently awarded “Best Law Firms” by Best Lawyers 2024 for our Mass Tort and Class Action Practice, is seeking a junior to mid-level associate to join the firm’s mass tort practice group in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. The associate will work on a variety of pharmaceutical and medical device product liability matters and be responsible for day-to-day management of their assigned caseload. Daily responsibilities include pre-filing investigation and record review, statute of limitations and case evaluation, preparation of complaints and discovery responses, and settlement processing. This position involves significant daily contact with clients, management of paralegal/support staff, and regular contact with outside attorneys (referring/co-counsel, defense counsel, etc.).
Requirements
The ideal candidate must possess the following attributes:
J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school
Admitted to practice law in New Jersey and in good standing
1-3 years of experience in mass tort, products liability, or personal injury cases
Experience with patient medical records and medical terminology
Excellent communication skills
Strong legal research and writing abilities
Demonstrated ability to multitask several time-critical projects under tight deadlines
Demonstrated ability and desire to work on matters beyond regular business hours
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Superior problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
Commitment to upholding the rules of ethics and professional conduct
Professional, collegial and friendly demeanor
