About Attorney II

　　GENERAL SUMMARY

　　The purpose of this job is to assist Corporation Counsel in providing legal services to the County Board and all other County boards, commissions, and departments. Represent the County's interest in State and Federal Courts, tribunals, or administrative bodies. Coordinate liability insurance coverage, process claims, and draft and review ordinances, bylaws, motions, proclamations, resolutions, and contracts. 

　　ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

　　Reviews and drafts contracts, resolutions, legal opinions, and other legal documents.Assists in processing claims and lawsuits to minimize County liability exposure.Assists in the provision of legal services to the Board of Commissioners and other County boards, commissions, and departments to minimize liability and maximize resources.Provides legal representation in all areas of County government except labor law to represent and defend the County's interest.Maintains awareness of new developments in legislation and case law.Perform related work as required.
