　　From your PASSION to ours

　　The Assoc. Laboratory Manager will be a working laboratory manager responsible for a variety of activities that supports and provides technical assistance to Research and Development, Corporate Plants, and Corporate Quality Assurance. This will include overall management of the Lab, follow through and review of results, perform or assist with routine testing on all Liquid and Solid samples provided to the lab from the Plants, QA, and R&D, company samples, and competitor samples as provided by Marketing and Sales.

　　Key responsibilities for this position include:

　　· Perform all necessary analytical tests to properly evaluate each product provided to the laboratory. Testing includes but is not limited to, Fat, Moisture, Calcium, Salt, Protein, and Rheological testing.

　　· Understand or have some knowledge of Electrophoresis and Ion Chromatography.

　　· Sample and provide assistance to have samples tested, when required, at an outside lab for chemistry and microbiology.

　　· Evaluate sample results in real-time to determine if results fall within the expected range and troubleshoot testing if not.

　　· Provide all analytical data results to supervisor and/or project manager in an organized and clear format.

　　· Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and cleaning of analytical equipment and laboratory area.

　　· Monitor chemical reagents and notify the supervisor when supplies are running low.

　　· Assist in the calibrations or repair of equipment when needed.

　　· Provide technical assistance as needed for special projects.

　　· Assist in product evaluations (bake tests) during plant tours of current and potential customers.

　　Education

　　· Must possess a minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree in Dairy Science or Natural Science

　　Experience

　　· Three to five years of experience and/or t training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

　　Specialized Knowledge

　　· Sound Managerial Experience in Managing a Lab and good time management Skills

　　· Sound working knowledge of basic laboratory skills

　　· Strong understanding of laboratory mathematics including stoichiometry and statistics.

　　Skills/Abilities

　　· Good communication skills and willingness to self-learn new procedures.

　　· Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for report writing and presentations.

　　Salary Description

　　$70,000 - $90,000
