  Job Description

  What your new role will entail;

  Our thriving, multidisciplinary Water Team in England and Wales are looking for an Associate Director, Project Manager to take a leading role within our growing teams in St Albans, Croydon, Basingstoke, Birmingham, Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff, Chesterfield or Leeds offices. Our Water Team is involved in high profile, industry leading infrastructure projects in the UK and overseas working on a variety of significant projects for Local and National Government, water and sewerage companies and other clients. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an established career in the water and defence sectors in a client or primary facing role.

  Key responsibilities of the position include;

  Manage multi-discipline complex projects at all stages from inception, through feasibility, outline and detailed design being responsible for the successful delivery of work, produced by others, to ensure timely and accurate results.

  Effective commercial and timely project delivery being accountable risk management.

  Ensure health, safety and wellbeing culture is maintained and business requirements are complied with.

  Lead and drive quality management.

  Be the primary interface for new and existing clients and develop strong and trusted relationships.

  Support and deputise for Framework Managers on several strategic contracts.

  Support the representation of the Water Team in the defence sector.

  Participate in business development and strategic growth activities with existing and new clients including cross-selling and collaborative working within internal business units.

  Support growth and work winning through bid management, tender production and preparation of proposals.

  Contribute proactively to resource management.

  Undertake line manager responsibilities providing mentoring, management and performance evaluation.

  Supporting the development of staff managing their input into projects and mentorship.

  The Water Team brings together the skills of project managers, hydrologists, water scientists, numerical modellers and civil, electrical, process and mechanical engineers. We do this to provide integrated, sustainable and cost-effective solutions. Our work ranges from high profile infrastructure schemes through to locally significant projects that make a real difference to communities. We work with water companies, the Environment Agency, Local and National Government and private clients in the UK and overseas. Our team works to imagine a better solution, then deliver it.

  You will join a dynamic team of high performing professionals ranging in experience from apprentice to director level. There are excellent opportunities for career progression and development in line with the global plans of the business.

  Qualifications

  Here's what we will need from you;

  Honours or master’s degree or equivalent qualification, or demonstrable equivalent experience.

  Working towards APM Project Management Qualification.

  Knowledge of or trained in NEC3 contracts.

  Construction Design Management Regulation trained and / or equivalent experience.

  A strong water sector background, including experience of the water industry, treatment works and operational sites.

  Highly motivated and driven individual who promotes excellence and efficient project delivery.

  Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively both with internal teams and with external clients.

  A strong desire to provide guidance and mentoring advice to support junior staff, both on projects and to help progress their professional journey.

  As some aspects of this role will be within the defence sector, the successful candidate must have previous UK Security Clearance or ability to obtain.
