This position is part of the dental and clinical education team withultimate responsibility for 24/7 operation of the Pediatric DentalResidency. This position is responsible for delivering clinical dentalservices and preventive dental care in both clinic and outreachsettings. This position provides preventive and diagnostic services,treatment, patient education and referral care. Participates in qualityimprovement initiatives as assigned by the Chief Clinical Officer.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Serves as the primary administrator of the NYU Langone Hospitals AEPDProgram within the respective regional area/site.
Coordinates and participates in the CODA accreditation reviews of theprogram and the clinical training sites, including the management andconducting of comprehensive mock site visits.
Coordinates and facilitates weekly didactic sessions includingLiterature Review sessions as well as sessions related to board reviewand research activities. Attends all didactic sessions related tocurriculum, participates and engages discussion of residents.
Implements the CODA standards and NYU Langone Hospitals AEPD programgoals and objectives for resident education within their clinicaltraining site dental departments. Screens and evaluates patientassignment to residents in order to meet program requirements and CODAStandards.
Informs the program of any changes to the clinical training sites towhich residents are assigned, including long-term changes to theresident assignments, change of address of the facility, addition of newlocations to which the residents are assigned, and institution-widechanges of the hosting clinical training site.
Provides residents with an orientation to the clinical training site,actively attends and participates in July onboarding of new residents.Coordinates the program related activities and scheduling of theresidents.
Attends all required meetings including AEPD Program meetings, monthlyAssociate Directors meeting, on-site faculty meetings, on-site healthcenter related admin meetings with dental director, Chief ClinicalOfficer, and others pertaining to residency program.
Participates in the recruitment, selection, and development of facultyand residents.
Conducts chart reviews of residents patient charts.
Coordinates the program related activities and scheduling of theclinical supervising faculty for providing adequate clinical supervisionof the residents at the primary and affiliated clinical training sites.
Along with the Residency Coordinator conducts quarterly face-to-facemeetings with each resident to identify any barriers they areencountering or additional support needed to succeed in the residency.Attends and conducts AEPD Program resident\'s meeting.
