Position Title Associate Director for Orientation & Leadership
Overview
Provide direction for leadership development programming and support for new student orientation programming
Essential Duties:
Support the facilitation of First Day in Friartown student and family sessions (summer orientation) and Fall Orientation. Manage virtual orientation and transfer orientation programming. Manage student and family registration for First Day in Friartown sessions
Manage the facilitation of the Leadership Fellows Program ( LFP ) including working collaboratively with key faculty and staff stakeholders to ensure the successful facilitation of workshops. Lead the recruitment and retention of student participants and the training of student leaders. Plan and facilitate the annual Rhode Island Conference on Values Based Leadership, in coordination with the LFP program
Support the introduction of, and manage student progression through, the student leadership curriculum. This includes tracking student learning, implementing initiatives for participation, and facilitating Clifton Strengths coaching and other supporting programming
Advise the Dirigo Leadership Honor Society. Coordinate the promotion of the honor society and the selection process of inductees. Develop and facilitate curriculum for participants Implement workshops and annual induction ceremony
Coordinate the Student Leadership Recognition program. Promote monthly awards by solicitating nominations and identifying outstanding programming on campus. Lead the planning of the annual Student Leadership Awards Night
Supervise the Graduate Assistants for the Leadership Fellows Program and Orientation
Marginal Duties:
Perform all other duties as may be required.
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs or a similar field from an accredited institution required. Master’s degree preferred
Three to five years’ experience in student affairs, advising, orientation, and/or leadership programming or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience planning and managing workshops, orientation sessions, and ceremonies
Ability to work collaboratively as a steam to implement cross campus programs with a student staff
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Strong customer service skills
Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Office

Salary Grade 20 (Min. $61,075/Mid. $79,398/Max. $97,721)
Salary Information
Employees are normally hired between the minimum and the midpoint of a position’s grade range to which a position has been assigned, depending on experience and qualifications.
