The Assistant Service Manager is responsible for supporting leadership with running an efficient and profitable service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all service records.

Responsibilities:
Responsibility for day to day service administration and service operations for the branch.
Ensure 100% PM currency at all times.
Develop understanding of Idealease “Best Practices” and implement them into maintenance procedures.
Administer policies and procedures for the Service Operations that are consistent with company objectives and contractual obligations while providing superior customer service.
Utilize established resources to recognize all warrantable failures, focusing on warranty and policy claims recovery.
Monitor unscheduled repairs and collaborate with Service Manager to identify opportunities to reduce and/or eliminate future unscheduled repairs.
Manage outside repairs and over-the-road failures efficiently and expeditiously.
Manage operating expenses in accordance with company objectives and Best Practices.
Develop relationships with vendors to maximize customer service and minimize operating expenses.
Develop understanding of U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (CFR 396). Reinforcing procedures as necessary to keep Idealease and contracted customers in compliance. Stay current with changes in the regulations.
Responsible for maintenance file documentation of customer and company vehicles in accordance with the U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (CFR 396) and company policies.
Maintain professional relationships with all contracted customers.
Investigate and determine course of actions for customer maintenance issues and problems.
Collaborate with Sales Team on New Equipment/Customer Orientations for each new customer.
Develop familiarization with Unit P & L statements.
Assist in collection of past due invoices as needed.
Safeguard company assets by maintaining strong internal controls.
Consistently meet or exceed all key performance standards for Rush Truck Leasing Service Operations.

Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Two years’ service department experience in a commercial dealership environment.
Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier.
