About This Role:
The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for anAssistant Scientist to work as part of a team in the soil testinglaboratory. The work as part of a team involves conducting elementalanalysis of soil, plant, water and forage samples for farmers, countyagents, KSU faculty and federal and state agency staff. Related dutieswill include preparing standards and reagents, conduct quality controlassurance testing throughout the analysis process to ensure bothaccuracy and precision of analysis. Save and upload files frominstruments to computer for report preparation and data archiving.Generate analysis reports for clients. The information developed will beused to make fertilizer recommendations for farmers and supportresearch, extension and regulatory activities in Kansas and otherstates. B.S. degreePreferred Qualifications:
B.S. in science-based discipline with at least two semesters ofcollege chemistry.M.S. in science-based discipline.One year experience in a service lab environment and use oflaboratory analytical instruments.PC computer experience with knowledge of spreadsheet and datamanagement.Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to workas a team member.Other Requirements:
