If so, Christman Constructors could be the place for you! is looking for Assistant Project Manager candidates to support projects in our Demolition division in the greater Central Michigan region.The Assistant Project Manager understands the details that make a construction project successful and stays a step ahead of the team's needs, bringing order to the demanding and fast-paced construction environment. They will assist and support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent in managing and coordinating construction activities.
What You Will Do:As an Assistant Project Manager, you play a crucial part of the project team. Primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but not limited to:Produce and organize project documents consistent with Christman's risk management standards ensuring they are readily accessible for team members.Proactively prepare project documents for close-out, turnover, and archiving to allow efficient final compilation and delivery on schedule. Secure all contractually required documents, including safety programs, MSDS documents, insurance policies, and supplier prior to project commencement.Assist the Project Manager or above with specific aspects of the closeout process.Assist the Project Manager with compiling the project billing according to established contractual requirements, including timely receipt of waivers.Accurately summarize important discussions, questions, and decisions raised during regular project team meetings, owner meetings, and weekly subcontractor meetings.Assist the Project Superintendent in accurately identifying and listing incomplete work items based on comparison of contract documents to work-in-place in each area and for each trade contractor.Partner with client and architect to establish punch list contents.Utilize current technology to expedite the punch list process ensuring it is completed within 30 days after substantial completion.Assist the Project Manager with identifying necessary inspections, create project-specific inspection log according to Christman standards, establish relationships with inspectors, schedule inspections, and ensure readiness for inspection.Responsible for overseeing all procurement, material tracking, inspection, and on-site storage.Update contract drawings to reflect all approved changes and ensure trade contractor document updates.Monitor quality of work and compliance with construction documents, as assigned by the Project Superintendent.Assist Superintendents with daily reports and manage all progress and quality photos.Supports the logistics process for all safety initiatives listed in the site-specific safety plan.What You Will Bring to the Team:Required experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:Required Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related job field.Minimum of three (3) years of commercial construction experience in a project management role.OR Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience.Additional Eligibility QualificationsHave the ability to interact with and develop effective working relationships with a wide range of people, including internal and external customers, in different situations.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
