The University of Chicago's Department of Family Medicine seeksfull-time faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor to serve asProgram Director or Associate Director to lead our new UChicago MedicineIngalls Family Medicine Residency Program.
Appointees will have a unique opportunity to be founding leaders of anew Family Medicine residency program to play a pivotal role in programplanning and startup. Appointees will report to the department Chair tocreate the strategic direction of the program, foster an inclusiveenvironment, and ensure its alignment with the University of Chicago'smission and values. Clinical responsibilities include seeing patients inour outpatient Family Medicine practice (Hyde Park or Harvey, IL),and/or inpatient at Ingalls Memorial Hospital. Other duties will includethe teaching and supervision of Family Medicine residents, coaching forcompetency and conducting competency evaluations of residents andfaculty, and conducting scholarly activity. Compensation (including agenerous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications.
UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital is a 485-bed acute carehospital that serves as the flagship of UChicago's Community Health andHospitals Division. Its inpatient medical/surgical, behavioral health,and labor/delivery/postpartum/newborn units are staffed by a combinationof UChicago faculty, employed medical group physicians, federallyqualified health center (FQHC) physicians, and affiliated privatepractitioners. Ambulatory care takes place in medical group, faculty,and FQHC practices. UChicago is excited to extend its outstandingGraduate Medical Education programming to Harvey, Illinois, and thesurrounding communities.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have amedical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medicallicensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be board certified oreligible in Family Medicine.
