Responsibilities
The position requires a commitment to excellence in teaching, studentadvising activities, professional development/scholarship consistent withAACSB & ABET accreditations, and service to the department, college,university, and community. The candidate is expected to teach 12 credithours (4 classes) each semester. Teaching will be done through online,synchronous, and/or face-to-face formats.
Description of Tenure Track Faculty DutiesTeaching involves activities that impart knowledge and critical thinkingskills to students. It includes preparing for courses assigned, assessingstudent progress, conducting curricular review, curricular development,and program review, including the use of new technology, as appropriate.Advising involves activities specifically directed to assist the student inchoosing career options, choosing a degree program, successfullycompleting his or her degree, obtaining employment or graduate schoolplacement, and keeping informed of University policies.Engaging in scholarly activities is a process which includes activity thatbrings enrichment to the faculty member and the profession and results in newmaterial that can be presented to students, as well as new skills whichbenefit the University community and are related to the faculty member'sassigned responsibilities. Intellectual contribution expectations forScholarly Academic (SA) designation includes a Doctorate Degree with 5intellectual or scholarly contributions during a 5-year period; three mustbe intellectual contributions, two of which are articles in a preferredpeer-reviewed journal. At least two contributions must be from within the mostrecent two-year period. ABD and recent doctorate graduates (less than fiveyears) require no intellectual contributions for hiring, but must meet theSA requirements within five years of receiving a terminal degree. Faculty thatmeet the College's expectation as a Practicing Academic (PA) will alsobe considered, however they will be expected to become SA for tenurepurposes. Preferred QualificationsDoctorate degree or all-but-dissertation (ABD) in Computer InformationSystems or closely related field from an AACSB or ABET- accreditedinstitution. ABD candidates are welcome to apply, but the expectation isthat the terminal degree will be conferred prior to the position start datePrevious college/university teaching experience at an AACSB-accreditedinstitution on a wide range of courses with special consideration for thosewho teach: information systems security/cybersecurity, telecommunicationsystems, SAP, networking, or database systems
Salary for Announcement
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $105,000 - $115,000at Assistant Professor rank. The salary of the finalist selected for this rolewill be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to,internal equity, education, experience, specialty and training.
